Chemical Exposures
Faculty, students, and staff who work with or come in contact with chemicals may experience unpleasant or irritating effects.  These adverse exposures to chemicals should be evaluated by a safety and health professional.  Information in this section provides guidance on identifying chemical hazards and requesting assistance in evaluating exposures.

Prior to renovation or maintenance work in areas containing chemicals, the department should conduct a safety evaluation to ensure that workers are not exposed to hazardous substances.  A Renovation Hazard Assessment Checklist is provided to aid in this process.
